making the Frog Eater

Here is another set of pics that show some progress for the Frog Eater creature.  I didn't really have an idea of what it was going to be at the beginning so I didn't really make an armature, I just smashed some clay together and hoped for the best.  Enjoy!

Making the Trap

I thought I would just post some pics of this creature at an earlier stage.  I really should have taken photos of it at an even earlier stage but unfortunately I didn't.  It had long legs at one stage, apart from that I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted it to be.

The Grub Mother revisited

A while ago I sculpted a character called the Grub Mother but always felt like it was unfinished for some reason.  She just sat there staring at me in my studio, taunting me.  Anyway, I recently revisited her made her into something that I feel a bit better about.  The Grub Mother is still the same character she was before, a surrogate mother for insects that lay their eggs on her.  She doesn't really want to be a mother to these insects but she is nonetheless and does it with a good grace.
