Flying Fish

This guy is actually part of a larger sculpture.  The idea was that this creature swims though the air catching little flying insects.

Chicken Wings update

Here's  just a little update of the progress on old Chicken Wings.  Still a bit to go but it's coming along I think. Plus some of the sketches done when I was thinking about designing the sculpture. Enjoy!

 

Chicken Wings

There is still a lot to do on this guy but I think it is getting there.  The idea was to create a new look for a griffin creature.  Something a little bit strange.  So I decided to play around with the head an neck of a Shag mixed with a Greyhound-esque body shape.  Hope you like it!  I will continue to post pictures as the sculpt progresses.

 

Royal Mantis

Here are some photos of the latest creature I have been working on.  What started out as just a few sketches in a sketchbook, looking at ways I could make a praying mantis type character, ended up being translated into a clay sketch and then continued as a sculpture.  Lots of fun to sculpt!

A bit fisht part 2

After some more sketching, I decided that I wasn't happy with the look of the fish creatures so I have changed it again.  This is what it looks like at the moment.  I'm interested to see how it actually ends up!

A bit fishy

This is something I have been working on recently.  It started as a drawing of lots of fish and then as a sculpt of a pretty normal looking fish but has slowly changed into something...else.  I have a vague idea of what this creature is going to be but I like the way it is changing and evolving so where it will actually end up is anyones guess.  Enjoy!
